Turf replacement at Punahou School’s Alexander Field nearly complete: Slideshow
In early May, Punahou began renovations on the field, planning to replace the grass with turf and redo most of its track and field facilities.
In past years the field has been rendered unusable for between 25 and 35 days per year due to rain. The school hopes the turf will provide a solution to this problem and increase usability during poor weather conditions.
The $3 million project is set to be completed by Sept. 7, as of the first home football game of the season, according to Punahou’s senior director of development, Noelehua Archambault.
