Hawaii’s largest wind farm begins operations on Oahu’s North Shore

The 69-megawatt wind farm, built on land owned by Kamehameha Schools near Haleiwa, is expected to generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 14,500 homes on Oahu, and at full output could meet as much as 10 percent of Oahu’s annual power needs, Boston-based First Wind said.
