Wait… there’s no such thing as the Jolly Green Giant?

Be Green 2: Punahou School farm

Youngsters in the Omidyar K-1 Neighborhood are gathering vegetables for lunch.

Each one has their favorite.

The youngsters enjoy the hands on experience of growing their own produce.

It’s part of the learning experience that helps them understand food doesn’t originate in the refrigerator.

"It does not just come from the Jolly Green Giant. But they actually can tend to it. They can play a part in growing their own food by watering the plants and pulling the weeds, but that magical moment when they see that bean sprout produce something that they can eat,” said Mike Walker of Punahou School.
