Surfing the Nations Hosts Legendary Surfer Fred Hemming Speaking on The History of Surfing Nov 16

Wahiawa, Oahu Legendary surfer Senator Fred Hemmings will be speaking on "The History of Surfing" in Wahiawa on Tuesday, November 16 from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm. This presentation will be hosted by Surfing the Nations at the nonprofit’s international headquarters, 67 South Kamehameha Hwy, in Wahiawa. FREE to the public. All welcome!

Fred Hemmings is known as a world class surfer and expert waterman. Beginning in the 1960"s, he won the Makaha International Surfing Championships four times, the Peruvian International Surfing Championships in 1964, and the World Surfing Championship title in 1968 in Puerto Rico. He attended Punahou School where he is an inductee in the Punahou School Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1991, Senator Hemmings was inducted into the International Surfing Hall of Fame, and in 1999 the Hawaii State Sport Hall of Fame. He also was recently inducted into the Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame
