Happy Thanksgiving

Hi guys – Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and post a couple of local sports items that might interest those of you on the mainland.

For the football-centric crowd, the University of Hawaii has a shot at a BSC bowl game should they beat Boise State on Friday.  This, of course, is tremendously exciting for UH and Coach June Jones has asked for a little aloha for the Boise team during the sold-out game.  You can read about it here.  And since this game can potentially send a non-BCS team to a BCS bowl, there are conspiracy theories around whether UH will actually get the recognition that they should.

Not to forget women’s sports, the 11th ranked UH volleyball team beat LMU.  They play again tonight (Senior Night) before waiting for the field to be set for the NCAA tournament.

What will I be doing?  I’ll be roasting the turkey, hot smoking some salmon (provided the weather is nice), and listening to an audiobook that I just got (Anthony Bourdain’s “Kitchen Confidential”).  Should be a relaxing day.
