"This is a classic silicone photovoltaic system," said Joe Saturnia, Island Pacific Energy President, as he walks beside the system his company installed at Punahou School. [emphasis mine]
Silicon! Silicon! Silicone is soft rubbery stuff. Silicon is the stuff that is in all of our electronics. The speaker (he IS the president of Island Pacific Energy) probably knows the difference, so I’ll attribute the error to the writer.

For those of you who are interested, Stormpulse is a really cool site that tracks hurricanes in both the Atlantic and Pacific regions. Check them out. They take data from NOAA, mash it with Google Maps, and produce some beautiful tracking maps. They also have the latest satellite images (also from NOAA).
