Update from the Honolulu Advertiser http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2008/Jan/21/br/br9721046583.html

Chris McLachlin is “is up and walking and he’s fine,” after suffering a stroke Saturday afternoon in Stanford, Calif., his wife Beth said today.

The orignal story: http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080121/SPORTS/801210364/1032

“The right side of his body was paralyzed at first,” Spencer McLachlin said last night. “They gave him some medicine and he had feeling (in his limbs) and he could move his right side. He could smile and a little later he could talk.”

Spencer said his father is “doing a lot better. Right now he’s talking almost like (he’s) 100 percent.”

Girl’s basketball team remains unbeaten.  Boy’s team loses to (gasp!) Iolani in the last seconds of the game.

Hi guys -

As you know, we need help for luau.  What you might not know is that we also need help for carnival.  Once again, we have a shift for the Malasadas booth (Waikiki).  Our shift is on Friday, February 1st, 2008; 4:45 – 8:00 p.m.  If you can help, please contact Jeff Stern at jstern (at) hawaii (dot) edu.

As for luau – we have two basic shifts for June 14, 2008.  One in the morning from 7:30AM or so until 2 PM, and another from 2 PM until 9 PM.  Afterwards, we have a post party up at the imu pit for all of our volunteers regardless of shift.  You can contact me at steve (at) 3155alani (dot) net or give me a call at 808-780-6240.
